Mankranso Hospital Adoption Project

GHVOG has adopted Mankranso Gov’t Hospital under Ghana Health Services, in Ahofo Ano South in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It is an 80-bed rural healthcare institution that sees 2,241 patients per month or 26,892 patients annually. The major medical services offered at Mankranso are Emergency Care (mainly Kumasi-Sunyani Highway traffic accidents), Primary Care, Family Planning, Surgery, General Medicine, OBGYN, Pediatrics, eye care, and Mental Health. The biggest challenges the Mankranso institution faces are lack of basic equipment such as; Microscopes, beds, mattresses, sheets, scales, diagnostics, Blood Pressure Machines, Glucometers, Stethoscope, Screens, Scissors, and supplies for those items such as; glucose test strips, clean lancets, clean syringes, sanitizers, alcohol wipes, gloves, trash cans, etc...

The Ghana Healthcare Volunteers of Georgia are currently working with Advocate for World Health in Tampa, Florida, as well as Vector Global Logistics to ship a 40-foot container full of medical supplies to Mankranso Hospital. This shipment includes 3 pallets of infectious prevention items, 5 pallets of wound care items, and medical equipment including 15 hospital beds with mattresses, Suction Machines, Exam Tables, Oxygen Concentrators, Autoclave Machines, Ultrasound Machines, Wheelchairs, Centrifuges, Microscopes...basically as much as we can fit in the container.

It is our hope that you will join us to help us to meet this goal!
